Banana Bread

What you need:

·         2/3 cup shortening

·         2 cups granulated sugar

·         4 eggs

·         2 cups mashed bananas (approx. 4 medium-sized bananas)

·         2/3 cup water

·         3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

·         1/2 teaspoon baking powder

·         2 teaspoons baking soda

·         1 1/2 teaspoons salt

·         1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

·         1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

·         2/3 cup pecans, crushed

·         12 half pint (8 ounce jars) mason jars


  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Grease the inside of the jars with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Beat the shortening and sugar in an electric mixer. Slowly mix in the eggs, bananas and water until light and airy.
  3. Separately, stir together the flour, baking power, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and cloves. Stir in the banana mixture and fold in the pecans.
  4. Fill the mason jars roughly half full. To ensure accuracy and prevent any mess, fill the batter in a large zip lock bag or piping bag. Cut the corner edge off and fill the jars with ease.
  5. Place the jars on a baking sheet and bake for 40-45 minutes. Sterilize the mason-jar lids and rings in boiling water for about 20 seconds.
  6. Put the lids on top of the jars right out of the oven and seal.

Caprese Salad

This recipe is perfect to grab on the go, without having to sacrifice your health. With just a few ingredients, the prep-time in minimal, but the results are delicious.

What you need:

  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Mozzarella balls
  • Basil leaves
  • Olive oil
  • Salt


Distribute the ingredients upon taste evenly in the jar, with the basil leaves placed at the top. Sprinkle a small amount of salt and drizzle olive oil to complete the jar. Seal it up and refrigerate for your meal the next day!

What you need:

  • 1 ¾ cup of non-fat dry milk powder
